The extension is still in testing. You can install it and explore the UI, but saving captures won't work until the cross-origin login setting is enabled on the server. If you click a capture action and see a "please log in" message that won't go away — that's why. It's not a bug, it just means the feature isn't fully switched on yet for this environment.

Step 02
Load it into Chrome
Chrome extensions loaded from a local folder need Developer mode enabled. It's a standard part of Chrome — nothing custom or risky about it.

Open extensions page
Navigate to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions.

Enable Developer mode
Toggle Developer mode on — top-right corner of the extensions page.

Load unpacked
Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped extension folder.

Pin to toolbar
"pinkk.social Research Hub" appears in your extensions list — pin its icon to the toolbar.
How it works
Right-click, pick a profile, send
Three context-menu actions, each opening a small popup where you confirm (or change) which profile it goes to. If the page URL matches a platform already linked to one of your profiles, that profile is pre-selected.

Right-click any image on a page and save it to a profile's Research Hub.

Highlight text first, then right-click the selection to capture it.
Add this page's URL
Right-click anywhere on the page (no selection needed) to add the URL.
Captured Sources appear on the profile's edit page under the Research Hub section — same place as items added manually.
Transparency
What the extension can access
The extension asks for the minimum it needs. It does not request access to every site you visit — host permissions are scoped to Pinkk only.
Context menus
Adds the right-click actions to pages.
Active tab
Reads the current page's URL and selection when you invoke an action — not in the background.
Cookies
Detects whether you're logged into Pinkk in this browser.
Storage
Holds the capture briefly while the popup opens.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't this on the Chrome Web Store?
It's an early preview. A public listing is planned once the cross-origin sign-in change ships and the extension has been used enough to be confident in it.
Do I need to be a subscriber?
Yes — Research Hub is a subscriber feature. You can still install and load the extension on any plan, but capture actions will be denied until you're subscribed.
Chrome flags it as an unverified extension — is that expected?
Yes. Anything loaded via "Load unpacked" in developer mode shows that warning. It's not a sign anything is wrong; it's how Chrome treats every unpublished extension.
Where do captured items show up?
On the profile's edit page, under the Research Hub section — same place as items added manually.
Not seeing Research Hub on a profile?
It's a subscriber feature — you can add notes and images manually from the profile edit page right away, no extension required.
